Annual Hearts & Brooms Bonspiel
Hearts & Brooms will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. This year’s bonspiel returns with its usual traditional fun, and we’ve added a new entry option. We will try a new format for one for one of the draws and we encourage novice curlers to try a bonspiel event. This bonspiel is organized by the Friday Social Mixed Curling section.
You will play two 6-end games and one 4-end tankard game. A tankard game is where the early draw will play four ends, then come off the ice for a break, while the late draw team picks up the game where they left off and completes the next four ends, for a combined score.
8:30 a.m. Draw: NOVICE OPEN
Players must have no more than 6 years experience per person & have aggregate total experience of no more than 16 years as of Sept. 2025. Players may change positions during games (rotating positions) or the various bonspiel games. If you need them, a few coaches will be available in the ice shed if you want to ask for help with strategy or clarify a rule. Maximum of 12 teams.
10:30 a.m. Draw: TRUE MIXED (OUR TRADITIONAL FORMAT)
Two men and two women play in alternating positions. All players, regardless of experience, are welcome to register as a Mixed team. Maximum of 12 teams.
Prizes, Food and Fun!
Prizes for the top 3 teams per draw and the tankard winners. Entry fee includes breakfast treats, table games during breaks, lunch & post-game finger foods after your draw is completed.
